Hello Everybody.

I'm new to this forum and to Fiats as well. I'vr bought a Fiat Bravo SX 1.4 12v just two days ago, and I'm trying to sort the main malfuncions out.
The problem that surprises me is that injection control light flashes when driving, and the rev counter reading drops to zero, and the car decelerates even though the pedal is floored. After a second or two the red light is gone and the car starts to rev up again. It happenes two or three times /100km and is really confusing... what may be the problem?

thank you in advance for your help

Injection flashes

Try to test your battery, or change it, it worked for me..

the battery is ok

I've bought a brand new one yesterday... any other ideas? What is exactly the meaning of this injection warn light? electrical failure? low fuel pressure?

Re: the battery is ok

Have U changed your fuel filter? Also check loosen harness at the injector supply at the engine.

Yep I've changed the fuel filter

But I did it yesterday, so I'd need some more time to see if something changed. One thing seems to be clear - the old filter looked like being untouched from when the car was built. It's now six yrs old and has 96 kkms on the clock. The performance of the engine rose immediately after I've plugged the new filter in - but still don't know if this would sort the flashing injector warn light issue... hope so.. :)
By the way.. What is the approximate fuel consumption of 1,4 12v Bravo in town? Mine does around 10l/100km which seems rather high.. what are your experiences?
Oh.. one more thing.. what to do when the water gets into you luggage trunk, and the rear door seal looks perfectly ok ?

Sorry for that basic questions, but I'm kinda new to Fiat cars.. :)

thermostat?

I had a similar problem the injector light would come on and off at seemingly random times, with mine though the temp gauge never registered anything until it stopped after a long journey where it would climb but the fan would never come on. Anyway i bought a new thermostat and fitted it, the old one was completely jammed wide open. since then i havent seen the injector light. As for consumption from my 1.4sx i get about 31mpg average- i dont drive sensibly and probably do one long journey per tank.
I have also recently noticed that rain or water from somewhere is getting in the boot, it seems to be coming from somewhere around the bottom boot strut areas, by the speakers, i cant seem to find anywhere that it could be getting in though. Any ideas?

Re: thermostat?

My boot leaks and the water seems to come in around the rear lights. Take off the plastic covers/grills and check this. They might just need the bolts tightened or a bit of sealant round the edges of the lights on the inside.

Thermostat would be possible...

What I've also noticed is that the engine warms up very slowly.. and after driving 6-7kms the temp. gauge remains in the "C" position all the time... looks like there is no thermostate at all, or it's opened all the time...
