I have just purchased a qubo, I asked the guy about the button with the letter e on it next to the gearstick, he had no idea and was no help can anyone help?
Is the button for an economy setting or is it for the ejector seat.

Hi,

The E button stands for economy and the duologic gearbox will change up gear earlier and down gear later to give you the best available MPG.

Unfortunately I find that unless you like driving very sedately it is a bit too efficient, and I don't tend to use it.

There is a download section on the forum where you can download the various manuals for the car, very useful.

Re the E button, my Qubo is in E mode all the time, on local or motorway, its a great help on mpg. If you need extra power, just knock the stick forward to drop a gear..........

I've a Dualogic (with the Ejector Seat button) and I've constantly been cussing the interference of the computer on both the Fiorino and the Qubo I now have (same system obviously). I tried using it as Automatic. I soon realised that me changing gear is more Eco than any button. The computer waits too long to change up and you'd just never get into 5th at all if you didn't touch the gear stick. I occasionally drive my Mum's Peugeot 106 which has a semi auto box and that allows you to do (almost) anything and it never gives you annoying nanny state bleeps to say you can't do something or then tells you off (for waaaaay too long) on the display.

Is it the grand dictators in Brussels who messed about with automatic boxes? I had a 2007 Saab 9-3 who use auto box disconnected the drive when you reached junctions so there was no creep as with previous owned auto cars (e.g. Toyota RAV 4) and dangerously it would let the car roll backwards. OK so once you know you're aware but it's mad to change something so inbuilt into a system. I asked a friend who has bought a Honda CR-V auto how his works. It's just like 'old times' with the slight hill hold and level surface creep which you'd expect. I'm sorely tempted to change as I'd feel happier in a 4x4 needing always to get around in poor wx but I do like paying £20 VED against £260!

The hill hold of the Qubo is annoying in having an inclinometer to decide when it works. It should be 100% of the time or not bother.

The economy of the Fiat is really good. The flat loading bay being a floor (no boot lip) is excellent and should be noted by more makers.
