This is a commonly found gearbox system in Small FIAT vehicles

A modern variant of the Alfa Romeo Selespeed

Here are some basic tips :

1. Check all of the Rear lights..and Brake lights ( the same Brakelight sensors work as the gearbox controls)

2. Take notice of WHEN the warning light.. or message.. comes on.
Possibly when Braking..steering.. or just at very low RPM

3. A Garage should be able to get a 'Fault Code' related to this warning
( may need kit that can communicate with FIAT group cars...
AlfaOBD or MultiECUScan are popular for 'home mechanics' )

4. This gearbox AND clutch are controlled by a ROBOT..
this 'Robot' uses special fluid.. if the fluid level is low.. then it struggles to work well

The fluid is stored in a clear pot on top of gearbox (like a screenwash tank)

Test the 1 and 2 if experiencing problems..
Then post on here if you need further assistance

Some info here:

On my 2011 multi jet when I reverse and then brake I get the the yellow triangle on the dash and a message ‘check lights’..........would that be linked to point 1 above?
