hey everyone ive just brought a 1.4 bravo and i want to get a iductionkit i just wandered if anyone new of the one to buy

Dont waste your money.

About £100 for a kit, for maybe 2bhp more; if you're lucky.

Don't forget the increase in insurance, or the possible decline of your policy or quoting you.

Re: Re: indution kit

2bhp is better than nuffin innit? n dont tell your insurance! simple they will only know if they see it n they wont soo!

im gettin a Straight thru system made for me 5 incher :) bad! that'll release some power!

Re: Re: Re: indution kit

2 bhp will be barely noticeable.

It's a highly irresponsible attitude not telling your insurance company about "performance" modifications.

Consider this.........

You have a car crash and there are serious injuries (Heaven forbid that you never do); an insurance assesor/investigator checks out the vehicle(s) and finds an unauthorised modification. Whay happens then?

Correct - you are up **** creek without a paddle. Never mind the paddle, you won't even have a canoe.

Re: Re: Re: Re: indution kit

Azza, that exhaust will probably drop you by 2bhp.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: indution kit

explain how? when not having a CAT releases the gasses quicker thus releasing BHP!

and the 5 incher joke ... its 5 inch's wide! so it would be summit to be proud of lol!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: indution kit

Got nowt to do with having the cat or not or how fast the gasses are 'released'. Cats actually make very little difference except to your MPG.

An exhaust is a tuned system, changing the pipe for a different diameter/length will affect the performance, more often than not downwards.

Yogis had the whole lot on his 1.8, induction kit, stainless manifold, exhaust. His car was dynod at 113BHP. OOPS!

bhp increase

the only true way of gettin power from your bravo is

1: Decat the beast (at least 10bhp depeding on the engine size) this only costs £40/50 just make sure uve got it back on for your MOT,

2: Superchip, around 6BHP, better enconmy the lot £200 (insurance friendly, coz they will never know.

3: race cams, depending on engine at least 9BHP
200 for single 380 for twin cam

4: Air filter & exhaust (together) better air flow, 5-10, £300 for both

Do it the right way m8.... they're r loadz of wayz of gettin power out of em.

Re: bhp increase

Bob, you are not quite right there:

1) 1-2BHP max
2) superchips add some midrange, rarely add top end
3) yeah right, cams for bravos are £700+ plus you need alot of retuning (ask Yogis)
4) 1-2BHP max plus loss of midrange

Re: bhp increase

doing what is mentioned above on the 1.6 will you be looking at the same amount of BHP???

Re: Re: bhp increase

Cams on 1 1.6 would set you back £1500 at least with fitting and tuning. You can't just bolt them on and drive away.

You would be looking at 135+BHP though.

Ribzz has a claimed 120 from his 1.6 which is decatted and has a supersprint manifold (£300ish) but thats from wells lane rolling road and I don't trust their figures.

Re: Re: Re: bhp increase

looks like decat, back box and induction kit for a while till i start earning some serious cash lol

thanks tom
