It looks like one o bought off ebay.If the end goes in about an inch(closed end),its worth checking the cap in the end.I had mine on 2 months, and then i took it off i noticed it rattled, and found the endcap had come off and fallen inside. Thus allowing dirty air in the car! If not dont worry :p

What makes you think that a HGT is quicker than a 2.0TS GTV??

The GTV is a future classic, a well maintained example is no less reliable than any other car of similar age.

HGT 0-60 7.7s 154 BHP 5 cylinder
GTV 0-60 8.2s 150 BHP 4 cylinder

HGT power to weight ratio 127.73 BHP/per ton
GTV power to weight ratio 109.49 BHP/Per ton

HGT has a clear advantage on all fronts, except maybe handling.

Absoloute rubbish.

Having driven both cars, in the real world there would be nothing in it. The big lazy 5cylinder (sounds great though) takes so long to wind up and get going compared to the TS engine.

MG While i agree with you on the pick up of a twinny, i must say the HGT has a more useable power delivery.

The lazy ness of it makes it for me a better engine to my style, as you have to work it to get it going. Ive had a few twinny alfas now and i was continiously buzzing around like a loon! (granted, a 155 silverstone does bring the BTCC driver in you a bit ;))

Re the induction, for the 1.2 i really wouldnt bother spending big bucks, all it is is spending for spendings sake...

get a cheapie halfords cone filter and an elbow like Andy's above for noise, other than that just remove the resonator and blank the hole off.

I had a hell of alot of fun in my lil 1.2 as many on here can attest too ;) it made a bit of noise and wasnt really all that fast (the punto box helped shock a few HGT's mind with its pick up from LFE services on the way to Trax a few years back).

Have it how you want, as performance gains arent really there unless buyiong cams etc

Made me lol when someone suggested on here that the 20v was 'wheezing' last week.

I would'nt say my 150 is lazy or takes too long to wind up - sure it's quiet and relatively refined compared to a hot '4' at lower revs, but it does pull away deceptively well, (compared to traffic around you)

It's not exciting whe driven normaly like that, but drop down a gear and keep the motor above 4000 RPM when the VIS comes alive and it soon throws itself up the road in a satisfying fashion...

Just remembered, I had the 147 version so maybe the Mk2's weren't as slouchy as that??

If I had the choice of either HGT or GTV it would be the GTV for me, would have to be the V6 though so totally irrelavent lol.

Well I just finished fitting the induction kit this evening, removed the airbox etc and located it in the gap left behind.

Two cold air feeds (the original and then one from the front bumper).

all I can say is.... the sound they make is nuts when you put your foot down, didnt expect a sound like that from it!
