Ok forgive for my ignorance as this is probably old news but what’s all this im hearing about induction kits knackering sensors (MAF) and therefore the engine?!.... any truth to it or is it just urban myths??
Are the likes of BMC & GSRs etc safe??

some say the oil on some filters does it (if its true or not i have no idea), so a gsr wont give you that problem as they dont come with an oiled filter, but with a non oiled filter you get the problem of the mesh going rusty and stopping air flow.
Ahh… so it’s the pre-oiled filters that cause the problem which to my knowledge is most of them. GSR and ITG would be the only ones that spring to mind that don’t use oil then, can’t think of any others at moment, shame as ITG don’t do a reasonably priced closed kit & GSR don’t do a kit for the evo :(

the only slight problemm with induction kits is they do allow a bit more crap through then a pannel standers filter standerd filters are desighned to just filter the air not for performance a good induction kit manufactur will try to get a good balance between the two. but all these max power junk will do is allow buckets of air and muck in a good branded induction kit gsr k&n ram air and you should be good i change maffs when i put kit on any way
