Do they really work.........

whats the difference between a motor world own brand thing and a K&N one other than price?

any other advise welcome

unless it is a sealed induction kit liek a bmc cda they are pretty much the same give or take a little bit of a fraction of a bhpbut i had a cheap one one mine just for the noise dunno about the power though.


you will mainly get a noise from it so just get a cheap one unless ur goin full out on a BMC CDA or a pipercross viper etc...

The motor world one's proberbly better,but i would advise you give them both a miss.

it's just i own a 1.4SX and want it to at least have a little bit of nippy-ness.............
so all cones are the same but enclosed are probably better

If you want nippyness don't bother. Fiat spent a lot of money on the induction system design.

A cheap indiction kit will likely be worse at filtering and engines have air filters for a very good reason.

An enclosed filter only really makes a difference if you're an idiot and can't fit an open filter properly.

if you want mippyness from a 1.4,there are 2 options.
1.replace the engine with a bigger 1..lol
2.fit a 100bhp shot of nos...lmfaoooo
only joing, i had an airfilter on my 1.4 and tbh the sound makes you think you are going faster but your prob not,
if i was you id get a cheap 1 say £20.as getting performance from a 1.4 is a joke,.dont waste your money on a £100 filter and get no results,for £20 at least you will sound good.

I can pretty much GUARANTEE the filter (of any sort0 will do naff all on a 1.4, even a bmc cda (which they dont make for a 1.4 ne way) it will only improve sound, and maybe improve the responsiveness of your car, but will not make it faster!
