A problem that has started occurring recently is that when I turn my steering wheel slightly (not turning) the indicators cancel prematurely. My cars been in for a service today and they have diagnosed the problem as a faulty indicator switch and have quoted £252.57 to replace it

As anyone had a similar problem and ss the switch available separately or is it part of a cluster ?

hold them :D

thats loads of money :p

or adopt the bmw policy, and dont use them at all ;)

mine have a habit of not staying on sometimes, and make clicky noises if i try to whack it back on again, so i just usually lightly hold mine so it still indicates but doesnt stay in position

Mine has recently started to do the same when I indicate left. I haven't enquired as to what the problem may be but £250 seems extortionate to me!

Hi All
Had the same problem I found that if you pull the rubber shroud out of the plastic cover and just leave it on the outside it improves things.
It’s the rubber bit where the stalk goes into the steering column; it doesn’t notice that it’s not clipped into the shroud.

(y)you can cut a section of the rubber covers then refit, works perfect.

I just had the fright of my life, MOT and service day tomorrow, cleaned the car, inside and out, goes for a drive, indicates right, wont stay on. at all, even with the wheel not moving.

Had a prod and it was the rubber causing it, before i read it here! Was going to post it as a new thread but, there already was one!

Time to change my pants now
