Had a little search for similar problems but couldn't find anything...

I went out in the Sisley for the first time in a month or so...

When I put the indicator on left or right it just flashes once and then stopped. Did it again and it then flashed about five or six times and stopped. Next time it did it once. Then again it worked perfectly but when exiting the roundabout it just did it once and died. All completely random as to whether it will work and for how long...

The hazzards are the same. Switch them on and they flash once and stop working...

Anybody had any experience of this before??

With my limited electrical knowledge I'm assuming it is relay or earth problem. This is only because the hazzards aren't working and thus my assumption (possibly false...) that the column switch problem wouldn't stop the hazzards working...

My first thought was flasher unit.

Certainly if the earths are ok, I'd throw on a new flasher unit. In fact that's the first thing I'd do coz it's so easy & I've got other cars to cannibalise one from (127's fit if you don't have a Panda handy! ;) ).

Flasher units do go wrong - I had to replace my Sisley one a few years ago, as well as a few 127 units. They can make your indicators go slow, stop completely, stick on, or take out the dash light (all of which are mot fails).

Probably an earth, but I like to be different! (y)

It's a bit belated but I thought I better reply as it was resolved...

It was the brown flasher unit/relay. I swapped them over between the Sisley and the 750L and that pointed to the problem straight away. I left the 750L relay in the 4x4 in order for it to go through the MOT...

After a suggestion from my mate, I took the relay apart (lever it with a small screwdriver) and gently cleaned up the contacts...

This did the trick as it is now working as it should again :) :)
