:( It was snowing last night and had a little bit of an accident and my car skidded on the ice and hit a kerb and it kerbed my wheel inside so ive fitted my spare but i also need a newish one to use as a spare any ideas where i can get one?

thanks ive got it sorted it isnt as bad as i first thought and someone my boyfriend knows is going to bend the metal back in place so i can use it again :D

Is that actually achievable ?? Isn't when mental is bent once, it loses the original strength ?

Yep its acheivable, someone on the mondeo forum bought a 16'' cosworth style mondeo alloy for £5 which was bent, managed to rejig it somehow to make it roadworthy and loaded it with loads of wheel weights.

It is used as a spare '5th alloy' to replace the steel spare.

With a bit of imagination shows what you can do (y)

Yeah well im guessing so as my boyfriend was fitting the temporary one someone who lives over the road from him said he could bend it back in place and get it sorted so i can put it back on and he is a mechanic so i think i can trust him.

and im almost sure my car is pulling to one side aswell but not very noticeable but i can tell as i drive it every day but will get that sorted out

Is your spare on the front wheel? If so its better off on the rear.

Either way it may cause a bit of pulling, as it is a lot thinner with less grip and stability.

Yeah the temp wheel is on the front is it better off to be at the back i have no idea how to change a wheel as my boyfriend did it for me :( really should do though

Yeah it feels a lot different now ive had the spare on is this why and my car doesnt feel as stable as it used to be cant wait to get my normal wheel back on. :D

yeah, its a lot safer on the rear if it blows, adn will cause less damage. Its also not under so much weight, and is not twisting about with the steering. Get your bf to swap it over to the rear :)

As Brooky said though, you could have knocked the geometery out a little bit. Basic tracking is only about £20 and is def worth having it done.

Yeah hes going to change it for me this weekend as i wont be driving too much this week and yeah im going to deffinatley have the tracking checked over just to be on the safe side thanks everyone :D
