Hi, having troubles with intermittent immolbiliser fault, been reccomended to have it bypassed in the ecu program?

2005 x244 2.8jtd has anyone had this done and has it caused any other problems since?

Make sure to notify your insurance company or fit a Thatcham 2 immobiliser if you bypass it. They are extremely easy to get into without breaking the glass so you will want an immobiliser. With intermittent immobiliser I would first eliminate the easy things clean the contacts on the immobiliser unit on the steering column with a good contact cleaner e.g. Wurth kontact ol and make sure you don't have two transponder keys on the keyring. If that doesn't help you may have an intermittent contact on the key antenna, you can check the a multimeter while pressing on the antenna.
 
Corcai, thanks for the reply, unfortunately this has been going on since January!

Have had new antenna and some damaged wiring replaced, got new control box but when fitted the main dealer were unable to code keys to it, they couldnt explain why?

So old one put back on, it fails maybe twice in 10 starts. Lost count of garages tried to have box fitted and coding done? However they just want to bypass it?

It's not too easy to get into as A class Motor home with double door locks and alarmed
 
If the dealer couldn't code it then I'd suspect the wiring between the code box and the ecu. Done properly immo off should have no knock on effects it's fairly easy on the edc15c7 ecu.

Do you know of a reliable source to send it to for bypass, can only see options on line eBay etc better to have a reccomended user, one said they could program new box from old one, but if old one corrupted then surely it will just transfer across?

Hi, ok getting nowhere with this, lots of talk but no action many "experts" say they can bypass or program, but when pushed make excuses

So can anyone supply a wiring diagram for 2005 jtd x244, need to see all connections between immolbiliser control box and the Ecu so I can trace cables plugs etc.

Don't know if makes any difference but is hymer a class, immolbiliser on steering column, ecu on nearside inner wing by air cleaner
