Hi all,

Only a few days since I last asked for help, but here I am again.

The wifes :worship: Ulysse finally gave up this morning and just about managed to crawl its way to a local garage ( at least that saved a recovery charge (y) ).

The eratic running got to the stage this morning that whilst stationary, the revs would be fine, but as soon as you put any load on, the engine would do its utmost to die out. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

The garage have checked turbo operation, condition of all intake passages / pipes etc and even tried running it without the turbo.....all to no avail. I don't think any faults were shown when the ecu was checked either. They ran out of time and will continue on Monday but something a work colleague said got me wondering.

Does anybody know if the immobiliser on a P reg 1.9tds Ulysse stops the engine being started FULL STOP, or will allow it to be started but not driven?
They apparently had a fault on their Scorpio which turned out to be the immobiliser trying to cut out the engine when the car was to be driven off, but allowed the engine to be started.

If anyone has any views or comments about this.....please post them here. Can anyone tell yet that I am desperate for clues, or is it I am just clueless :yum: ( answers to that not required )

Cheers for the replies guys.....shall just have to keep my fingers crossed that the garage come up with a result on Monday. Hopefully it will not be too expensive ( yeh I can hear you all laughing at that one ), otherwise it is time for the car to go.

It did have when we bought it but as some of the keybad buttons were getting worn, we followed the Forum advice and disconnected it ( WHILST ENGINE RUNNING :) ).
Something tells me maybe you have a possible idea.....please tell, I'm all ears!
Anything to hopefully get the car back on the road and doing what we got it for, the wifes childminding run-around.
