Hi i have had side airbag fault and faulty gairbagkeep coming on my screen for nearly 6 months now and now the car is due for mot, so i took it to my local garage who only charged me £15 for diagnostic and found out the comms 2000 unit behind the steering wheel, i wasnt sure if it was this as i heard different things in this forum that could have caused the problem. I paid £80 for secondhand comms unit from ebay which was cheaper than dealer price(£258). I took the car in today and he charged me only £20 to fit the unit in and the problem dissapeared. I just quickly need to take it to the mot before the light decides to come back on again. Got it booked in for 2moro so hopefully it should pass.
