they ignored your advice and now want to replace the HPFP ,it is a high mileage rightenuff @ 183,000 been in garage since feb17 Ask them , if the vehicle is still the same will they fit it for totally free due to their diagnosis?;););)

yes perfect, immo goes off then i crank it but no start
If as you describe then sounds like immobiliser doing what it should.
Have you got access to good diagnostics, as my next thought assuming rev counter is reacting to starter cranking would be to measure diesel pressure at Common Rail, this can only be done with good diagnostics using "live data" and should be approaching 300Bar if it doesn't then the computer will not let engine start.
