is this a brand new car? stating the obvious but have you turned the volume up on the dial (big black knob on the sterio) press and hold it in to turn the radio on or off ??
=you should see "volume" and a number if you still cant here anything by the time it gets to 10 you could be deaf or it could be that they havent pluged in a multi (big) plug on the back of the sterio unit...

Its an 06 plate, I have done the obvious things like turning the volume right up, but I have mentioned this to the dealership, and they're having a look at it for me next tuesday

if it turns on it rules out a fuse i expect when they had it in storage/ on the fourcourt they had removed the head unit (cd player) for security there are three plugs on the back of the radio one for the power/ steering wheel controls and one for the speakers and a little one for the arial on the roof... seen someone else on here with that problem and all it was was the plug hadnt been plugged in but taking it out needs some special "keys" so your probably best leaving it to the dealer if you dont know what your doing,,,,,,,

since its an 06 it will soon be out of its 2nd year of warenty (is the third year transferable for her T?)

there are another few things to look out for

https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-technical/89495-faults-problems.html

also as its an 06 it might be an early model which should have had 2 recall's which might be worth checking with your fiat dealer that it had been caried out..

https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-technical/89516-grands-punto-recalls.html

it probably has been done on both counts but it wont harm to ask for peace of mind,,,

Check your spare tyre well under the boot carpet for the manual/handbook. When I got mine I got the service books etc from the dealer given to me by hand but the handbook was already stored in the boot. Worth a look, welcome to the forum.

Right all Grande Puntos come with locking fuel caps.

It would appear they never used to. But at some point Fiat decided that it should be standard and not an option.

I have just went out in the rain and check 12 56 plate onwards and they all have them.

Lmao! I couldnt give a monkeys TBH Dont miss it, and I suppose I wont until I get my diesel nicked or sugar in the tank!

Maybe I should get one from my dealer. :D

Hi, I got my first car yesterday, and its a 1.2 Grande Punto Active. However, I wasn't shown a few things, e.g. How to unlock the petrol cap. Now, I am female, and I am blonde, but please dont laugh at me, I spent 5 minutes trying to get it off this evening, and in the end some bloke at the petrol station did it for me, then went back in his car before I could say thanks or anything.

So If anyone could help me!?!

You got a locking fuel cap with a 1.2 active???

I never

The standard equipment locking petrol cap thing kicked in G. Punto's manufactured in Jan 2007.
Before that they were a £20 factory option....in this case the ignition key fitted.
If they were a UK dealer 'add on' it was still £20 but you had to use an extra different key because the petrol cap couldn't be ordered to work with the ignition key.

Re: I'm so ashamed to ask this

Thanks Tozzle and Andy...

I felt so stupid earlier on though, and even more for asking it, but your advice is much appreciated.

We are all born stupid and some have choosen to learn. The ones who will laugh at you because of this - are the ones who were born stupid but didn't choose to learn.

I just would keep on asking. This is how I got my knowledge because me too has been born stupid.

Re: I'm so ashamed to ask this

We are all born stupid and some have choosen to learn.

There's a massive difference between being stupid and not-knowing - just because you don't know something doesn't mean you're stupid.
