Do you guys think that I can hook the uno turbo microplex ignition onto my 1108 when I do my turbo conversion? As i've got one lying around.
and another question, where does the tdc and the rpm sensors sit, I know one sits on the front pulley.

Do you mean the 1372cc lump Microplex system?

Why do you want multi-point injection system on a 1.1?
its not worth the hassle

RPM sensor is mouted near the flywheel (Uses a missing tooth to determine engine revolutions)

Top Dead center (TDC) sensor is mounted near the crank pulley (Uses a locating pin for the location of piston 1 @ TDC)

M@nticore, you're in unchartered territory here! I think very few people have attempted to do what you're doing, so there isn't much knowledge going around. That's not to say it can't be done, but does mean you may have to do a lot of work to hook it up.

I suspect you'll need to find out what information the Microplex needs, and whether the appropriate sensors can be fitted to your engine.

One suggestion might be to use the ignition management from a Cinquecento/ Seicento? These were designed for the FIRE engine, so in theory you should be able to retrofit it to your car with less work than a Microplex meant for a different engine.

Alternatively, if you are thinking of turbocharging your FIRE engine, perhaps finding a Turbo ECU might be a better idea? They can be picked up fairly cheaply off Ebay if you look. You will however run into problems with getting the sensors to work, and as mentioned you need an RPM sensor that requires a certain number of teeth on the flywheel to function properly. You might get round this problem by adapting a flywheel meant from a Uno turbo engine?

The people you need to ask are Oldschool and Smokeme. Both have lots of experience with working with FIRE engines, and Smokeme has had considerable success with turbocharging them. I know Smokeme used a stand alone management system called 'Megasquirt', which from what I gather is programmable and mappable.

Other than that I don't know what else to suggest. I'm only used to playing with carburetors!

does someone have a pic of the UT flywheel, and on what system does it work the 60-2 or what, reason i'm asking for a pic is that I have a flywheel of a UT at home but it doesn't have any teeth on it, or does it use the ringgear teeth?
As for the control unit, I've got one at home and yes it's for a turbo project.
Does the cinq ignition unit have a knock sensor or not?
Is there also a free haynes manual for download for the cinq as I will need the wiring diagram if I want to fit this unit.

Thanx for all the replies.

like Biz stated it has a missing tooth or two, but there is no missing tooth on the UT ringgear. if this is the case, it shouldn't be mutch of a mission to get the ignition management sorted.
Does the 1108 fire have the same size ringgear as the 1372cc non fire, heard that they are the same.
So it should in basic theory work the same as the wheelsensors on the ABS systems found on vehicles, where it calculates how fast the teeth is moving.
