I just got my car insurance with elephant for £700. It was ment to be £1100, but i put both my parents on the insurance which made it go down £200 per parents. And some people say parents are useless.

How old are you?. What area? and how many years NCB?. Just thought this data would be more useful for people. Sound useful.

Yeah I add my dad onto my insurance as a named driver and it knocks at least £150 off :). Has the added benefit that he can drive my car to come pick me up when im pi**ed .

invalid insurance if they find out your lying...i.e. is the car log book in your name?? bit strange if your only a name d driver lol.......

same as saying you got 5 no claims bonus, might aswell have your own policy and lie lol

Have you read the thread properly?. What we are talking about is getting a policy out in your own name and adding someone / parent whos older as a named driver which is perfectly legal.

This has always been a good way to reduce premiums, nothing wrong with it - adding a named drivers tends to mitigate the risk, hence a lower premium in the majority of cases.

adding my mums to mine lowered it by about £100, but she doesnt like driving manuals so never touches my car

adding my dad raised it, so i didnt put him on , i get to use his cars/vans though (y)

with wuinn when i first went with them i thought i had added my dad but didnt so changed it with no effect on my policy i would have added my mum aswell but there was no way in hell she would drive my polo.

Totally its worth checking to see whats what, adding my mum to my policy in my frist year of having my HGT insurance took 15% off, the 2nd year it made next to no difference, but having her as a named driver means she's fully comp for the times she drives it when her cars in the garage or we're sharing driving etc.
