Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help. I bought an 02 plate Stilo 1.8 16v dynamic on Friday and am having endless problems :(

It now idle's too low at around 500 revs and a soon as I put any
gas on it and the release again it just drops right down & cuts out!! I'm clueless but have asked a friend and they have said they may be able to adjust the idle speed - but my problem now is where is it?? Can't find it under the bonnet at all!

If anyone can enlighten me that would be great

Thanks Tasha

Tasha,
Firstly, welcome to the Forum, you'll find a lot of info on here that will help you in the future.
To my knowledge there is no idle adjustment, that used to be on cars with carburettors. With ECU's and fuel injection it's done electronically, however there is a throttle postition relearn sequence that may help but may not be the problem.
Do a search and read some of the posts which include the process, I can't remember off the top of my head.
You coould also carefully clean the throttle body butterfly, again do a search for more info.
Good luck

Ahh thank you for the advice. Just cleaned the inlet control valve and fingers crossed the problem seems resolved for now!! It idles at correct revs and hasn't cut out :)

Thanks again
