Hey guys!

My uno is with problems again - hope you can help me..just so you know its a Fiat Uno fire 1.0ltr 1989 model

I have a problem - the engine is revving about 1200k (normally it should rev at 800 - 900k)

I took it to a mechanic and he checked it. he said it was ok, he arranged the timing even though it was ok.. The problem still remains there

Basically, to explain in more detail. the uno before use to work like this:

- rev at about 500k when cold, (if I pull choke it goes up to 1000+k), when temperature reaches over 70+ it gets to normal rev at about 850k. THIS IS NORMAL

- THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS NOW- revs at about 500k when cold(again if i pull choke it work better more than 1000+k), when temperature reaches over 70+ ot gets to normal revs at about 850. TILL NOW ITS OK, but when temperature goes up to for example 80, the revs get higher and finally idles at around 1200k, which seems to be a lot. THIS IS WHATS Wrong

This issue is getting to my nerves, what could be the problem?? I tried setting the idle screw to make it rev a little less, but then the engine would work at very very low idle speed, sometimes even dies.

To me seems there is something which when it gets hot, its malfunctioning

Any help greatly appreciated!!

also I have noted that sometimes, there seems to be too much fuel entering, since when I switch off the engine, the engine continues to run for about a second or two, choking and dies

If the idle is too high then you will often get "running on" after the engine is switched off. If you lower the idle speed to normal then this should alleviate this problem.

Your rising revs could well be some form of vacuum leak. Check all vacuum pipes to the carburettor are secure and not split (including the vacuum advance unit pipe). Also check the timing, if it advances you will get an increase in revs - make sure the distributor isn't loose. Really it's very much a question of going over everything connected to the intake and ignition systems and making sure all is in order.

ic, what other pipes should i check??

i already checked the vacuum advanc pipe, it was ok, however i changed it but problem still there..

i only know about that pipe, are there any other pipes which i shoud check? and how do i identify them please?
