ICE question

Hi,

I have nearly finished my ICE set up and was wondering if you think the alternator will be able to handle 3 amps running at the same time? Will it kill it or will the battery and alternator be ok?

The amps are 2x Vibe VP4's 1200watts rms to drive a 15' audiobahn sub

and 1x Rockford 550s to drive my components and 6x9's

Will it kill my car?

Even if you had a huge alternator it would not be able to supply enough power. The change in current demands are just too quick for an alternator to cope with so the power will come from your battery.

A stiffening cap will help ALOT!

Poor Sub!

Jees man, forget the battery and alternator, what about the poor sub! Which model is it to be able to handle all that power?

The sub is an Audiobahn Flame Q 15' with 1300watts RMS and over 3000watts peak power but you should look at the RMS power of any sub and not the peak power when chosing.

do you know of any online shops where i can by really good batterys to meet the demands of the amps? Or any website where i can buy a power cap or somethinbg along those lines?

Hiya Al,

yeah i cant wait to hear it myself! Should be finished next week once the box for the sub has come and the door pods for the front speakers (Rockford Q 5'25) and got some more vibe stuff with the 6x9's (sound so good for the price £60). Once that is all done i'll just crank up the volume and hear how it sounds!
