Appreciate any advice or help.

Replaced the standard radio casstte in my mk1 brava with a Pioneer deg-1630r. The choice of head was down to what was on offer at Halfords when I walked in - but it sounds excellent.

I'm no expert on ICE, I just plugged in the iso block & arial & fitted it - no problem. All works fine.

Problem is when I turn off the ignition. When I return to the car & start it up, all the presets on the radio are gone & the radio reset to factory settings.

I assume the head is losing power when the ignition is switched off. As a complete novice - has anyone else had this problem or seen anything like it? Any ideas?

Many Thanks

Alan

Hehe...

I had the same problem this morning - exact same head unit althought I bought it months ago...

All you have to do is swap the yellow & red wires behind the head unit and that should be you - sorted. It will also now remember where the CD was playing as before it wouldn't have.

Get yourself an amp and sub to go with it and you'll be sorted (I got that installed this morning - sounds sweet).

Liam,

Many thanks for your help. I'll do that tomorrow.

I am very, very impressed in the difference from the standard radio cassette. I haven't looked into an amp at the moment, but the trouble is that there is so much you can do, you have to just take it a step at a time else you run out of money

Thanks again.

Liam,

Just a quick thank you. Pulled out the unit this morning, switched the 2 leads & bingo - everything now working fine.

Thanks for the assistance.

Regards

Alan
