I need a little help from someone in the knowhow please.

ive already bought :
http://www.motor-world.co.uk/kroozin/show_prod.php?prod_id=638
http://www.motor-world.co.uk/kroozin/show_prod.php?prod_id=631
http://www.motor-world.co.uk/kroozin/show_prod.php?prod_id=5449

and am currently running them on some crappy SPLX amp, which i'd like to replace with a JBL one :
http://www.motor-world.co.uk/kroozin/show_prod.php?prod_id=640 - 4ch
http://www.motor-world.co.uk/kroozin/show_prod.php?prod_id=639 - 2ch

my question is.....

should i buy the 4ch amp and run the 6x9s on 2 of the channels (and dasiy chain the other speakers on) and bridge the other 2 for the sub. or buy 2 of the 2 ch amps and bridge one for the sub, and use one for the speakers?

i was also looking to buy another sub, would i be able to daisy chain that onto the other sub?

thanks for your help

personally this is wat i would do.

2 2 channel amps, 1 bridged to run the sub, the other, less powerfull to run the 6x9's

as for powering them, u could either run both from seperate power cables to the battery.

or run one cable from the battery to the boot, fuse it close to the battery and have it goin into a distribution block, then from that block u can run a seperate cable to each amp u use which would minimise cabling. remeber to fuse each power cable so that if one blows u arent goin to bugger the whole system, an make sure u earth each amp.

daisy chaining isnt a good idea IMO because the last amp on the chain wont get a full power supply, the best bet would b to run them through a block so they all get the same ammount of power goin to them!

if u find then that u are havin sound quality problems u can wire in a power cap before the amp that is runnin the sub so that it will store power in it makin the bass hit tru every single time. usually if u go over 1000watt u need a 1.0 farad cap, 2000watts need a 2.0 farad cap, and some people will even say if u are runnin a total of 500watts that a .5 farad one is a good idea!

another consideration would b getting a more power alternator and or battery to cope with the demands if u are plannin a huge system.

sorry for the massive post

hope this helps.

i was gonna get the 6 channel one but couldnt find a place to buy one at a decent price.

i didnt mean daisy chaining the amps, i was on bout running my 2 sets of speakers that way, + to - on left and right. thats how i already have the speakers wired to my SPLX and they sound ok and all give out the same volume.

thanks for your help

Keep hunting for the 6 channel one. Its well worth it. A very similar set up to mine almost.

I'm running:
JBL GTO 6x9's
2 x JBL GT3 1600watt 10" subs
JBL GTO 505ce Components
thru 1100 watt 6channel JBL GTO6000 Amp

I can only reiterate that removal of the 6*9's and running more power to the front components will improve your sound tenfold. You will get better imaging and dynamics and also more BASS as there will be no phase cancellation between the 6*9's and the speakers.
