Hello, My name's Martin and i have a Bravo HGT 155.
I'm looking for a turbo to improve the power to 200HP.
I already put a chip, filter and exhaust but is not enough for me.

Anybody nows about a turbo?

Thanks and sorry for my english.

PS: I put my bravo at 230kmh.....It's a flash.

HGT Turbo

Martin, I have asked a lot about doing this recently to an HGT from new as I have just picked one up but the dealers have said that it will not work. The simple idea of fitting the Coupe Turbo does not work as there is no room for it and the bonnet wont close. If any else has any ideas on where to stick it (I wish I hadn't asked that!) I would also be interested.

Turbo for your Bravo

It would be good to increase the power up to 230 hp!!!

Fiat Bravo HGT 155hp + exhaust + chip + sports filter

Martin is not asking about changing the motor, he's asking for some kit to upgrade the motor.

Martin... where are you from?

Here in Argentina there are some places that do those things...

INYECAR
DNK KOMPRESSOR
HP RACING
maybe ALLEGRINI

Have you tried with NOS Nitrous Oxide Systems ????!?!?

Where can these products be found?

I have a 147bhp HGT, and I want to upgrade its power.. Where do u find the products u were talking about Mr. KLR?
Thanks

Upgrades

There is a misunderstanding...

those names aren't products but places that modify motors, increasing its power.

They're located in Argentina, where I'm from.

I'm talking about adding a turbo to the HGT engine.

But first you can try with an induction kit, chip and sports exhaust.

Turbo

As far as i know the 0nly difference between the coupe turbo engine and the standard 5 pot is the fact that it has a turbo bolted on. Everything else is the same. So in theroy the engine should slot straight in, but as pointed out the height of the engine does not allow the bonnet to close. If this is the only problem then simple, if you have the money to have an engine transplant then you should be able to afford to have a bulge put into the bonnet. You will aslo need to uprate the brakes, suspension and possibley the clutch. Not to sure if the transmission tunnel will match up and if the wirring loom is the same BUT again it is just the 5 pot with a turbo bolted on top - put very basicly!!!

You'll have to find someone to take the job on cos as far as i know no one as done it yet!!

Anyone else got any views???

I'm from Argnetina!

I'm from Argentina!.Pero si vos sos de Argentina....Porque hablamos en ingles???..JAJAJA

Turbo Bulge!

Steve, The turbo will not fit under a "bulge"! It requires at least 6 inches above the current bonnet skin and even my Dad in the 70's wouldn't have done it! Have you seen the new Golf advert........ best left alone. However I might try something on my 1.4 sx before I go for it on the HGT (just don't tell the wife!)

Argentinian !

Es que yo no sabia que eras de argentina!!

sediento de poder veo.....

probaste con un nitro ?!?
eso te daria mucha mucha potencia extra.
Yo personalmente estoy buscando mejoras esteticas

www.inyecar.com (o .ar no me acuerdo)

un saludo!

PD: de que parte sos, che? de Capital Federal?

get real go and get a coupe

what is it with all this I want a turbo - simple and someone has said it before go and get a coupe 20v turbo - nearly new/ year old cost less than hgt did, selling in UK now for ~£15K and 10K miles or less.

anyway you can't put a turbo straight to hgt engine you sad muppets. There is substantial work required to the breathing of engine, complete overhaul of ecu, mapping etc.

cost of all this will more than cover insurance etc. of coupe - then you'll have a more desireable, faster and far better handling car that a £ucked-up tarted about bravo.

Muppets "r" us

Kermy, Piggy, Gonzo and the boys would like to thank you for your straight forward no nonsence approach to our dilema. Trouble is I cannot get my windsurfing equipment, wife and daughter in a Coupe at the same time (could be a bonus though!) which is why I got the hatchback. I don't even think you can get a roof rack for a coupe and as I already have 2 Bravo's. I havent got room for a van. Life isn't always that simple you see.
Cheers

I don't like the Fiat Coupe

I don't like that car, that's why I'm not talking about it...

and here the Fiat Coupe (in Argentina) is only available with 155 hp, the turbo isn't here.

And that Coupe (used, not 0 km) costs more than a HGT new...

a turbo kit for the bravo is between $2000-3000

not a lot for someone that is planning to spend $2000 in wheels & tires (like me... yeah I'm a little crazy)

I have a Bravo HGT, I really like it, but is the only Fiat I like...

I don't like the Barchetta, Coupe, Punto, Palio, Siena, Marea, Brava

the Marea's rear is ugly, so as the Brava

my opinion
and my bad English...

KLR!!!

Mr. KLR

I asked you before about products for the HGT, Do you know any websites that have performance enhancing products for the HGT, other than chip, exhaust, and filter?? Thanks
By the way, does the performance exhaust make a big difference? Power wise, not sound?

Websites

Here are some websites that may help you
(but some are Argentinian, so they are in Spanish)

www.chipracing.com.ar
www.diefer.com
www.inyecar.com
www1.remus.at
www.brembo.com
www.nosnitrous.com
www.silenpro.com.ar

about the exhaust, mine is a SILEN PRO (look at the website) and yes, it gives little more power (more acceleration) but very little.

HGT TURBO TRANSPLANT

I'VE NEVER LOOKED UNDER THE BONNET OF A COUPE TURBO, BU T I CANT UNDERSTAND WHY THE TURBO SHOULD GET INTHE WAY. ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT THE COUPE IS HIGHER AT HTE FRONT THAN THE BRAVO, OR IS IT THAT THE ENGINE/GEARBOX IS MOUNTED LOWER INTHE COUPE? WHY NOT SWAP ALL THE COMPONENTS FROM THE COUPE TO THE BRAVO, ENGINE,GEARBOX, DRIVESHAFTS AND BRAKES? ANY WAY IT MUST BE POSSIBLE TO RELOCATE THE TURBO WITH A NEW MANIFOLD. I'M SURE THAT A COMPANY LIKE POWERFLOW IN THE UK WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE ONE, OR A FEW IF THERE ARE A FEW OF US LOOKING TO DO THE SAME TRANSPLANT.

nitrous oxide

How much is a tank of nitrous oxide?
How much faster does it make your bravo go?
Where can i get a tank of it from?

Turbo Transplant

Paul, you need to look under the bonnet of a coupe. If any work is required on the engine of a coupe turbo, the bumper has to come off! I received my info from Mangoletsi in Cheshire initially then from a few independant sources. I am an ex vehicle technician myself (OK it was a few years ago in the days of XR3i's) and in all honesty I now beleive that it really is a waste of time and money doing the conversion. The best 0-60 time is likely to be 1.5 - 2.0 seconds quicker which is impressive BUT I am buggered if I want to go any faster on the top end in a Bravo! One of my current cars is a '98 Alfa 156 2.5 24v V6 which can now be picked up 2nd hand for about 15k with 25,000 on the clock (as can a coupe turbo which is not my taste) so if you want a pretty car with oomph then get into a V6 Alfa .... and the insurance is cheaper than an HGT (I know as I am doing it!). The Alfa will easily push sub 7 secs 0-60 with 1 person and tops 140+... and stays on the road!

TURBO'S RULE!

I've had turbo cars since i was 19, for tuning turbo cars are the easy option. A straight transplant may not give too much more power but a few choice mods while the turbo motor is on the floor will give you 300ish BHP. I had a 300 BHPintegrale EVO a couple of years ago and it was about 6 times faster than the bravo. Turbo power is the only thing for me!!
