I think there is a ghost in my engine, help!

On my way home tonight whilst driving at around 85mph the injector warning light came on.

The car maintained its speed but when i put my foot down to overtake the alfa 147 jtd on lane number 1 nothin happened, if anythong the power seemed to drop.

I was at 3000rpm and beond that it seemed to loose power. I also noticed the engine temp was higher than usuall.

I pull of the raod and inspected the engine but from a basic engine inspection it looked and sounded fine. Got back on to the road and eventually the light went out but the temp needle was moving up and down eraticly.

Just had a look at the car againg and the coolant was a little low but nothing that would cause any problems.

Have topped up the coolant but just wondering if there anyone had experienced this or if someone knows whats going on?

ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor, its stuck in the thermostat housing underneath that black bit of plastic to the right of the rocker cover, i had similar problems with my brava and thats what was playing up

Hi just done a 40 mile run to work and the car was fine, ETG stayed at normal temp and my fuel guage even seemed higher than yesterday, wierd?

On the speeding issue, mr anon i respect your views and agree that speed limits are there for a reason and i am the first to say if im caught its my own fault. I also feel in some circumstances that a straight piece of dual carriageway with no slip roads joining or exiting is the purfect opertunity to put my foot down a little more. I'm sorry if that upsets people but i am cirtainly not a reckless of fast driver otherwise i wouldn't get an average of 590 miles to a tank of diesel!
