It's good to hear you didn't give up, I've had a few moments like that where I've had a whole series of problems one after another but I'm so happy that I didn't throw in the towel 
Two new rear tyres and a headlight bulb, both of which i knew it needed and it passed its mot. No advisories either so that was good news.
