hehe, found this funny.

i was out with my mates, everyone decided to go home so off i went.

to my annoyance someone had taken my parking space AGAIN! (the only safe place outside my house) well i didnt feel like parking in the spot where everyones cars get burned out so i went for a drive to town.

on my way into town i was approching alot of cops stood in the road pulling people over, i was one of them :D

this will be interesting i thought, so after the guy setup the breathaliser and explained what he was gonig to do i had to take the test, keep in mind i'd had a Stella 2 hours before, i blew into the tube until i ran out of breath and thank god he said stop i was going to pass out lol.

my results came back as ZERO on the screen to my supprise...

so, is it normal for 1.7 units to disapear so fast?

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

sorry dave, sometimes i just get that craving for a beer, my mate offered so i had one, i dont feel it has any effect on me...maybe you disagree

on another note last night i almost got wiped out by a cop car.

i was on a large round about where the limit is 40 i accelerated to 40 from the lights on the rounabout and a cop car came along with its lights on doing 60+ mph about to join the roundabout, i was near this junction and if i hadent stopped he would have taken me out in a horiffic accendent, theres no way in hell he could have stopped before hitting me if i hadent emergency stopped, i think he knew this as i saw the expression on his face as he flew infront of me, the drive gave me a friendly thank you aswell which made me feel good.(y)

I used to go to work at 4:30 am everyday so would never drink the night before. But for a while now I have been starting at 9am, On Monday I got pulled over along with about 1 out of every 30 cars.

The copper was very nice checked tyres, tax and breathalised me, no drinks the night before so I passed with nothing in my system.

Makes you wonder how many people were over the limit from parties the night before as their were five cars parked there and a taxi driver being put into the back of a van

yep, totally normal... your body will absorb 1 unit per hour...

1.7 units would be virtually untracable in 2 hours time, especially if u had eaten inbetween the beer and the test!

When I got pulled the other week for my dark windows he asked me when I last had a drink- hadnt had one for two weeks so I told him this and he just said oh thats ok I can smell anything anyway so theres no point testing you!

I used to drink a lot at one stage but not much anymore

I always have a pint, just the one mind if im out and drive. I am in the legal requirements.

just as a note of caution: we ran a small test at hendon that involved a very watered down whiskey (1 to about 10) all we did was swish it round the mouth and spit it out, 45 mins later administered a breath test, straight to red

now whilst the roadside test is not a precise measurement of alcohol level, its enough to get arrested, and no one needs that

there is no safe limit, no precise calculation, far too many variables to even begin to correctly guess what your blood/alcohol level is, as has been pointed out numerous times, just dont drink and drive

as for the next day thing, yes it's still in there to a degree, as at least 2 recruits at hendon will verify when they got stoppped at the entrance coz they still smelled like a barmans cloth, tested, and booted out.

Indeed. You can't measure your own blood alcohol level, so why take the risk?

It does Hellcat, when I got (randomly may I point out!) pulled last year I was asked if I had used mouthwash that morning, luckily I hadn't (I like to floss). Ryan, no offence but I am amazed they thought you looked old enough to drink ;)

pmsl! :D

been pulled a few times and breathalised comes hand in hand with modded car round here, they're pretty few and far between, although more recent one was probably my fault, parked in market place with cops patroling, i then tripped up the kerb (just because im clumsy not because was drinking lol) and jumped in car with loud exhaust (my sei's one lol) and was stopped before i even moved, had to wait half hour for a breathaliser tester thingy to come out :( got let off but done for plates (illegal font) and rear light out  although i knew about the plates so my fault really
