On a very similar note, a friend chased off a heron from his garden pond a while back, only to discover his most precious fish sturgeon was missing!
Now this fish was like one of the family, it could literally play with you until y9ou grew bored, and enjoyed you holding its dorsal fin and 'zipping' it through the water across the pond - it was like a dog with a ball, the more you did it the more quickly it came back, only minus the slobber and panting!
Anyway, with his head held low 'Den' walked back to his house and moped about for an hour or two before returning to the pond to feed them that evening, and on his way back up the path he noticed some movement in one of the plant pots - the sturgeon was only lying in the dirt still alive! The heron must of dropped it from, Den thinks almost the height of his house!
After rushing it back to the pond and watching it behave perfectly naturally for 10 or so minutes he left it, and it lives on happy as Larry no worse for the ordeal!
