Somebody asked to lay off the boy racer thing because to the majority of the public, car enthusiasts are generalised as boy racers.

Very true.. I got pulled over 3 times in 4 months in my metro just because it was obviously modified.. First copper got a right shock when he pulled me over as I was on my way to a meeting and had a suit oh..and he was mighty shocked that a) it was a women and b) the condition of the car.. it was a metro with NO RUST. ( by the way I had actually been one of the few motorists driving at the limit and reason I was pulled and I quote." The car wasn't registered to the address you pulled away from and these sort of cars are nicked alot." IT was was a modified metro.. not likely to be top of the to nick list) But anyway.. I was stereotyped and pulled over..while other NON modded cars blantantly sped past.

there is just a few people and everyone remembers em.. near me its a 1.0 litre nova and he has tried it on with me in every car I have had.. including the sx's.. Like I am going to waste my petrol.

There are some people that just think they can drive better than they can.. and its not just the lads/lasses in small modified hatchbacks.. its also the big BMW's, Alfas you name the car.. it can have an idiot behind the wheel.

Long rant ( sorry had one of them days.)

Iv'e always wanted an Escort as they are one of my favourite cars ever. I know you guys on here will never agree with me but I'm afraid to say I'd have an escort compared to a Cinq any day. At least I can go quicker and feel safer in this car.

Go quicker? Hmmm, maybe your car was ill, A Cinq Sporting will dispense a 1.3 K reg Escort anyday of the week including Sundays!

As Julio said and showed the Cinq can be strong as in my book he holds the record for worst/spectacular crash and survived in a Cinq.

I dont understand...Ive been driving the obviously done up Cinq (mecano sp? kit on the back with buckets and harnesses) around fully insured for about 6 months now, never been pulled for it, nor when the same piece of metal was on the 899cc...I was quietly hoping it might attract some attention.

The 1242 dispatches quite a bit if yu can look past the rattly group N!
