Technical I can't open bonnet on my Punto

I pulled the bonnet cable on my Punto.
The bonnet catch did not release and the cable will not return so I cannot try again. I have tapped down on the bonnet and tried to force it up but no joy. Can someone tell me how to open the bonnet catch from underneath the car or through the grill?

the cable thats in the cabin underneith the dash,
I'm not too sure tbh but try and locate the release cable in the cabin and give it a pull, its probally snapped, if that fails try in the wheel arch..
don't take my word but thats what id do
