I think my car sensed the vibes that I was looking to buy another, so today when I went to pick something up down a narrow bumpy lane and was paying attention to not hitting other cars, not bottoming out and avoiding random bollards, I managed to hit a big post and dented a door, broke a door handle, scraped another door, broke a bump strip and generally scratched half the car

It's booked into a bodyshop in Wigton on Monday with the best rep in the area but I know it won't be cheap. So that's christmas cancelled and half the deposit saved for the new car scrapped then :bang:

NO!!!!!!

thats crap luck. bless ya. its at times like this you wish you had a standard colour. will you be able to get paint the exact same colour ok?

It is a standard colour - Lamborghini mauve and easily available *phew* :). Thank goodness I didn't go for a fancy colour. I just feel so dumb :bang:

Edit - forgot to say it's a good job I hit the post and not the Lexus I was doing my best to avoid on my side of the car.

Will it pay to repair the car if you're going to out it anyway? A dealer is likely to get it fixed cheaper than you can.

Sorry to see the damage, its so fustrating when you just plain mess up, been there done that.

It doesn't look ridiculously expensive, providing there is no damage to the A or B posts its just panels, 350 pounds should see it repaired including materials. That's assuming its a straight metallic paint, the fact its off another car makes no difference.

If the door is badly stetched get a used one, obviously because of the special colour it will need painting inside and out, which adds to the cost. As a rough guide a single panel should be no more than 150 pounds to paint in a standard metallic, including material.

They should be able to lose the damage to the rear arch without painting the whole wing. Generally what you do is paint part of an adjoining panel anyway, and gradually fade out the colour so any minute differences are lost to the eye.

Still a boring way to spend your bonus though.

Thanks for the advice (y) The damage to the door is just where the handle got pushed in and I'm hoping it will just pull back out. The only slight problem being the door mechanism seems to have broken and it doesn't open :bang:

Uh Oh.... :D

*Cough*Bloody Woman*Cough* (Joking! LOL :D )

How pink can one car get, haha :D This is why i avoid narrow lanes :D If that was me, i would have probably wrote the car off LOL.

Hope it isnt too expensive to fix! :)

Sorry to see that damage Helz. I hope it doesn't turn out too expensive for you ;)

Bad luck about your car i will never forget the phone call I had off the mrs to say she had put my car into a corrigated fence.

Are you having another brava?

That's one thing, no-one to shout at me for having broken it! I'm actually not that gutted, bit embarassed but it doesn't look too bad in the light of day.
