Ive got an amp sub and power cap in my boot.

Was working perfectly fine until i decided to move it.

After i moved it i connected it all back up and i wasnt getting any noise from the sub.
I disconnected the ground loop isolater i have inline with the RCA and it works but you get a loud humming sound.
I thought the ground loop isolater had gone but when i bought another one it did the same.

When i take the power cap off the humming is not as loud.

Any ideas what i can do??
i just dont get why the ground loop isolators stopped the sub from working :confused:

Thats the first thing i checked.
Its just bugging me why the ground loop isolator stops the sub working, when before i moved it, it worked perfectly.:confused:
Confusing.

Do your power cable and RCA leads run down the same side of the car?

P

They do.
But i have had the car about 4 months.
Not once have i had any noise from the speakers until i moved the sub into a different box.
So i doubt moving the power and RCA cable different sides would make any difference.
Even moving the sub back doesnt work.

no i have a ground loop isolator like i said an it cuts the sub out.
I get no noise whatsoever when its connected.
I also have an alternator suppressor which connects to the alternator to stop that from interfering as the humming gets louder as i rev.
Look an alternator suppressor up.
