The "main" button on my steeringwheel stopped working. It has worked before when I connected the TomTom to my Blue & me.
What have I done so far? I updated the Blue & Me software to version 10. Had some trouble doing that with the dreaded USB 10 message and the system only talking Italian, but by using a USB 3.0 stick it's working fine now. Connected MES and checked for faults in the converge (Blue and Me) software. Tried actuate the buttons and all are recognized except of course the "main"button.
So I tried a proxy allignment by first telling the bodycomputer that there were no buttons and alligne and then telling that there were 8 buttons and alligne again.
Still all buttons work except the "main".
So I can't pick up calls or reconnect the Tomtom.
It seems there is a fysical problem with this button (feels normal though) and I might have to find a new set of buttons.
So my question is: how do I remove and replace these buttons?

In the end it turned out to be so much slimpler.
Tried a few squirts of contactcleaner with no success. My son suggested trying to blow out built up crap with compressed air (make sure to disconnect the battery to avoid selfdeployment of the airbag). This too didn't work.
Previous owner had tried to wrap the surrounds with corbonfibre printed plastic. Although I kind of liked the carbonfibre look, it was done with rather thick plastic and didn't look perfect. And since the contactcleaner had removed the toplayer I was left with only black plastic so it had to come off. That made the cause for not working painfully clear.
The tip of the plastic was between the button and the microswitch. How it could have worked before is beyond me, but all is well now.
I can accept calls and the Tomtom is reconnected to the Blue & Me.

Me Happy!
