Hello All,

My Ducato has been stalling frequently in traffic. Internet research points to several potential causes including egr, fuel filter, throttle position sensor, ignition switch. After a process Of élimination and thé récent manifestation Of other problems such as flickering dashboard lights and engine failing to shut off when ignition is switched to thé "off" position, i am betting heavily on thé ignition switch being faulty.

Can someone be so kind as to provide accurate instructions, with pictures if possible, on how to remove thé ignition switch for a 2003 Ducato 2.0 JTD? Other how to guides on thé internet have not been helpful. Model specific variations sometimes make generic guides misleading or even harmful.

I am stuck and need to get thé Ducato moving asap. I Can do away with pictures in the interests Of early résponses to this post.

Thanks,
Fama

OK so i removed thé ignition switch without much hassle. It is marked "Fiat Lancia". It bears thé following numbers in two rows:

First row - 42 2. Note thé space.
Second row- 05139.

Question : Are Fiat ducato ignition switches interchangeable with Fiat Lancia switches? If they are incompatible, that should explain thé stalling.

How can one visually identify a faulty ignition switch once taken out? How can i tell thé problem is not with thé cylinder into which thé switch solides?

What is/are thé approved part Number(s) for a 2003 ducato ignition switch?
