hi, i know this may seem silly after reading this forum but can someone please explain to me how to get the standard head unit out, i have a wire coat hanger ready and waiting as ive read that somewhere but i really dont know how to get it out!!

There should be 4 holes in the HU push some coat hanger wire in the holes to release the catches then pull out the unit.

Do you have to push all 4 holes in at the same time?

Yes ideally but if you only have one key it can be done one side at a time but you will always have to use the 2 holes on the same side to release the catch.

nah it won't unless you cut the connector off and manually connect the wires...not worth the hassle

They are standard ISO 4 pin Blaupunkt keys which you can buy from Halfords.

You can use pieces of coathanger, 4mm nails and small screwdrivers to push into the holes and release the clips.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO GET THE HEATER UNIT OFF?

I have taken the stereo out, the stereo metal holder and started to unclip the four clips on the front part of the heater panel - but the bottom part won't come off :S
