Theres a plastic cover on the inside - take that off. Theres a ring with a few slots cut out. Get a small flatblade screwdriver and hammer and tap them loose (anticlockwise - as if undoing a nut - which is what it is). You should be able to unscrew. Then they just pull out

well i cant take the ring metal thing with slots in off, i cant get it to budge.
Try some WD40
:yeahthat:, the first bit needs quite a hard whack...
Mine must have been off before as it was loose.
You are supposed to buy a special FIAT tool...
Don't forget to open the window and support the mirror from the outside as you whack it, and remove the bolt – you don’t want 7 years bad luck.
There may be some rust to treat when you get the mirror off.

c spanner - costs about £35 from fiat, surprise surprise! i found a pair of long needle nose pliers do the job very well, gets a good grip on opposite sides of the ring, oo er
