Hi guys, I've just bought a '06 MK2b, it's nowt special and is purely as an occasional runaround. It's a very basic model and as such doesn't have a light in the boot. Do you know if the cabling is there on all models, or will I have to run some?
If I have to run some does the boot have some sort of switching built in and if so where is it?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

you sure there isnt any light there?

Definitely no light there, this is a very low spec car (my daughter would classify it as poverty spec!). It even has a cassette player  Now I may be old enough to still have some cassettes laying around but blimey charlie, I can't believe that in 2006 Fiat were still selling them.

Here is a pic of the drivers side rear shelf unit with the empty light hole!

I'd like to think that the wiring must be in there somewhere, surely it'd be more expensive for them to create a loom purely to leave out the rear light cabling than to actually provide the light?

I'm gonna put strips of LEDs in under both of the speaker shelves and not use the standard one anyway.
But there isn't any wiring there :( The wire that you can see in the pic is for the speaker. I'll take the speaker bracket off at the weekend and see if the cabling is there but tucked back behind.

I've never seen one without tbh....

The wire will be in there somewhere
Is a Punto Mia? as they sometimes scrape the barrelll tbh... Hardly worth having if so

Ziggy
the mia was a mk2 punto with no electric windows and no central locking
the run out mk2b on an 06 im thinking dont have the connector for the boot light just like the subframes were made of chocolate and the interiors were made of newspaper
shame really as these cars were the best fiat ever made
im punto empty now as these cars are 10 years old minimum
shame the grandes werent built as well
