I have a 2nd generation punto, the plastic gromit (is this the right word) has come off the drivers wiper connection to the linkage, stopping the wiper from working. I can click the connection together but then it will come apart again after using the wipers for any length of time. Apparently you have to but the whole linkage , and with fitting this is coming to about £150. I cant afford this, am I loath to anyway because my wipers broke stopped working two years ago due to the motor going, and i had to shell out then.

Does anybody have any idea of how I could fix this without buying the whole part. Alternatively I have found the linkage online for about £60 but I would still need someone to fix it as I wouldn't know how to replace the whole linkage.

thanks Paul

to save a bit of money on parts mate, your best bet is to try a scrappies for the parts as theres loads of dead puntos out there for the looting :yum:!

hi,

if you still have the little black plastic gromit, and its just loose and popping off the ball joint, then an easy and very cheap way to fix it its to get a set of mole grips, or even pliers, and squash it a bit. No from side to side (ie diameter) but "flat-ways" if that makes sense!!! Its a common thing with the mk2 punto's. Ive done it loads of times and none of them have said its come off again since!! Costs nothing too, so well worth a try first!!

Good luck!(y)
Alan
