Technical How to find year of manufacture for a Tipo engine born after 1983ish

I have purchased a 1974 Fiat 128 Sport L with a Tipo 1600 engine and 5 speed gearbox which is a bit livelier than original but that is not the issue. Dealers and gurus alike cannot tell me the year of manufacture other than it is between 1983 and 1995ish as that was the years of production when then were sold new in New Zealand. Is there any ideas as I want to register a VIN for the upcoming International vintage car rally early next year.

Do you have the Tipo Engine Number from the block.

I used to have a Tipo and from it's VIN one can use ePER to get manufacturing details

In my old cars case, see below, the Engine number is contained in ePER and can thus be referenced back to Manufacturing date.
