How to find the D.O.B of a car

Friend has an imported car and we'd like to find out the exact "DOB" of their vehicle. Any ideas where this information could be found?

Nope can be reg'd at a year or more later.

Ideally the date it left the factory although date of first registration would do. Friend already knows when it was first registered in England as they imported it.

One of the ways the police use is to check the seat belt tabs (lables) or any piece of interior or exterior trim they are all marked and they have a year and month type calender on them, but ring the main dealer with the chassis code, and they should be able to tell you, but some of them are funny about imports and dont like dealing with them as different countries diff spec, and they always get the wrong bits, so rather not! Ant!

Don't think the dealer would be much help as the vehicle was built in approx 1969

What make/car is it? If it has a following there might be Owners club that could help or even a parts specialist might know.

yeh i know, thats why i asked, i've seen a 2000 on a 05 reg (mates chinise scooter)

Taking dates off the trim etc wouldnt help as this was the date they were manufactured.

we still get brand new car parts in work which were made in '03 etc..

my uno had the manufacture date under the dash passenger side, it was even signed
