i have a bravo with 17's on it just now and thinking of lowering(well thought bout it for ages when i almost bought some off a guy off of here). WHats better to have with the 17's 35mm or 40mm?? does anyone have any pics of them being dropped either 35 or 40??

Cheers guys

you wont be able to see the difference between 35mm and 40mm. Its down to the brand of springs you want to use. Personally, i'd go for the 35mm drop on Eibach springs... some of the shorter ones, like APEX, can be a little firm...

Eibach will only drop the car by 30mm.....they are tho the better quality of springs

Spax are good they will drop it by 40 although i personally would go for the 35mm drop

less is more when it comes to bravo's

subtle wins the day

aye deffo subtle for the bravo don't wanna go wacky with the baba, it's looking almost there as it is just a couple o things to do with it before it's reached it's peak i think.... so 35mm???

or 30 on eibach springs :D it doesn't need lowered very much at all to look just right. not like my mates 206. You could fit a family of iraqi refugees in the clearance space above his wheels!

God, the time I spent debating this one!

just out of curiosity, could you measure from the exact centre of the wheel to the arch, cos I'm curious to gain some comparison at the end of the day, just how much mine has dropped by.
i'll measure mine too and could even post pics

I was guna go for eibachs for the undisputed ride quality, but also cos I could claim they were factory done as this was an option on the original model I'm led to believe (wouldn't therefore affeect my insurance premiums!)

I was put off Eibachs (in favour of adjustables) after I rang Fiat and asked about the effective lowering of the Abarth ones (aka eibachs in an Abarth box - at pretty much the same price as online too!). Their technical said the 30mm lowering should effectively be 28mm on the fronts, and nearer 18mm on the rears!

My rear was much higher than my fronts on the standards so the last thing I wanted to do was distort this proportion even more. Mine is much lower than I ever intended now, cos the adjustables assume a min 30mm lowering to begin with (but I'm convinced they dropped mine much more than this) yet I still can't get over - they still sit in the arches without rubbing, AND gawwd dayam, it makes the car look mean.

build a nice big mdf install for the boot. that'll bring the rear in-line with the front :D

It probably depends on your local speed humps. Around my way a local lowered M3 keeps damaging his exhaust system. But fair to say the clearance looks to be about 100mm.

Wimps the lot of you! Get your arches done and drop it on the deck ;)

How low can you go??

Goo on then Daz, I'm curious. Measure from apex of wing arch to wheel centre and let us know.
I'll tel you mine if you tell me yours..
