Styling How many 500s in Ye Ye Green out there?

Saw my first ye ye green this week near Warwick Uni. I really like it.

...& even tho it suits the 500 well, it does get abit tedious seeing BN white ones ALL the time.

Totally agree about bnw ... even tho it's what I chose  One of my friends asked me if Fiat only make the 500 in white

Hi

I have one in the Dunmow area of Essex, I think there are a couple more in ein this area, I've seen one drive through Dunmow a few times.

There is one in Tel Aviv :)

I think the reason Yeye green isn't more popular is the fact that not many got to the show rooms, the configurator didn't do the colour justice. When you see it in the flesh it does have a retro appeal

The reason it's not popular is that only a few people actually like it. There was plenty of time for people to see it in the flesh and sadly for Yuck Yuck lovers, it just wasn't all that popular because it's the sort of colour that 5% of the population probably really like and the rest either dislike, or disliks strongly.

I think one of the problems with the 500 is that BNW works so well, is so popular and is rather free that it makes it hard for people to choose other colours unless they are making a conscious effort to be different.

So that's working on the premise that if enough of us are wrong, we're right.

You're not Notts! I said "disliks" and you didn't point it out :p Almost had me fooled there!!!! :D

P.S Yes, that's right :D

I'm Notts and so is my wife! Actually the scary thing is when I highlighted that bit of the sentence to embolden it I DID think of mentioning the typo, but didn't.

Maybe I'm losing my edge. Criticising grammar is a young man's game. Did I ever tell you about the time I went to Shelbyville? It was called Monroeville at the time...

I liked Ye Ye Green. I'm a 5%-er. I just wont pay extra for a colour.

I would probably side on the cheap sheep reasoning rather than people actually not liking the colour, most people I speak to think its nice.

And most people I speak to seem to rather like the BNW of my car too. People don't generally walk up to you and say "Jeez mate, I think the colour of your car is frigging horrible" now do they?

If Yuck Yuck was free I'm sure more people would have gone for it, but it still wouldn't have been popular.

I have one:D. I absolutely adore it. I have seen one in London, and there is another one that I have seen around Newcastle/Gateshead.

I arrived at the dealer all ready to sign the paperwork for my new cream 500 in Jan 09, and the Ye ye green Lounge was sitting in the showroom. I said I wanted that one instead - it is absolutely fab, and I will keep it till I die, or till someone gives me a mint condition Saab 96 Sport! ha ha!

Saw a mint Ye Ye 500 whilst on holiday in the Lake District last week - had almost forgotten just how well this colour works with the 500's retro image. I'd love to see one with a retrimmed interior in matching Ye Ye leather.

IMO what doesn't work, though, is Ye Ye + alloys - the combination of modern wheels with an uber-retro colour just looks plain daft. Respraying the standard pop trims to match the body colour might be interesting.

Surely it would be better to just paint the steel wheels "old English white" (or old Italian white I suppose), a bit like this:

Or you could just buy a contemporary colour with some nice alloys and stop kidding yourself that you're driving a 40 year old car :p

Our Ye Ye Bathroom got taken out last Monday. I miss it so much :p BNW replacement should be fully operational tomorrow :p Won't stink as much then :p

Our Punk grey suite ( horrible minky grey brown colour ) is still awaiting urgent replacement. The 500 does seem to come in a whole array of 70's bathroom colours - Volare blue, Calypso orange, Jive blue.

I think FIAT need to do the 500 in more retro colours. YeYe Green, Calypso Orange and Cha Cha Cha Azure were all fun, pastel colours, as well as Punk Grey. None of those mentioned are available any more - I don't think there's enough choice. The new pale blue is very nice (forget what it's called) but FIAT - we need more retro, Italian colours!
