How long do you expect your tyres to last? I've just checked the fronts on my Punto HGT and they are looking very worn after 9k miles. They are standard fit Firestone Firehawks (!) and I expect they may reach 12k if I'm lucky. Do you Bravo HGT drivers find your fronts wear this fast?

Tyre Wear

My HGT fronts last about 10k legally. However i have just had it rigged up to the latest tracking and alignment device which tests the camber, caster, toe etc and found the car was a bit twisted on the front which has not helped.

Since Tuesday I have done about 700 miles and the car is fantastic, it handles like it never has before and is actually quite nice to drive!

Is it me or is it Conti's

I admit to driving my Bravo 1.8 hlx with enthusiasm, but not stupidly, but my last set of front wore out in about 8K!! They were Continental Contact Premiums, anyone else had experiance of Conti's? Just changed them for Toyo Proxes T1-S, seem pretty good so far and have a damn sexy looking tread pattern!

Alignment check - good idea

Now that you mention it Nigel I think I need to get my wheel alignment checked. The steering wheel always seems to be turned a bit when I'm going straight. It really bugs me with on a 3 spoker.

Seems like 8 to 12k would be right for the 'sportier' types of tyres. Redchilli I agree the Toyos look really sexy (as tyres can!) with a very aggressive V tread pattern. Funny how the pattern can change the look of the car.

Tyres on an HGT Bravo

I have a 1998 Bravo HGT. I get about 17000 miles from the front tyres - which I am not really impressed with! Have recently replaced the rear tyres at 51000 miles which I have never achieved before in any car!!
Depends how you drive I suppose. Rod.
