Hello people

I've just fitted a pair of LED strobes (the recovery type) with 70 leds in each module. Does anyone no how long they can be left on for at 12volts before the battery is drained. i think they draw 0.6 watts (600 milliwatts?) Everyone tells me LEDS are low power consumption but I just wondered how low.

Thank You In Advance

It's more likely to be 600 milli-amps (0.6A), so 2 sets is 1.2A.
Car batteries are 45AH (amp hours) and upwards, so you could theoretically run your LEDs for 37.5 hours before the battery went flat. Of course, you wouldn't be able to start the engine at this point.

How long you can run them for in real life depends on the condition of the battery and the engine (does your car start instantly every time?). I'd play it safe and say 10 hours maximum.
