having never touched a diesel before looking under the bonnet i'm simply lost, the 130JTD i've purchased seems a little sluggish, its had the MAF replaced and EGR cleaned of gunk.

the turbo wasnt kicking in until 2500rpm which for a diesel seemed mad to me, the 20vT kicks in by then!

i noticed the accelerator pedal adjuster was a long wat out so have wound it right back in and its better but still not boosting until 2000rpm from the best i can tell.

i have tried disconnecting the Maf and it made no difference on performance, it may have slightly decreased performance.

throttle body/butterfly valve? i've been told diesels just dont have them  is that true? how does the engine control airflow? if it does have one, where is it?

is the 130JTD fly-by-wire? is there any adjustment for it other than at the pedal?

Lambda, i assume it must have one? anyone had trouble with them wearing out?

is it just me? i know i normally drive a much more powerful marea so am i just being a bit optimistic of the 130?

Thanks in advance,
Ry

130JTD.. nice :D

Speed is relative i suppose. The 130JTD has a throttle potentiometer on the throttle body and if faulty can cause the car not to perform as well as possible. Mine had a receipt for having the potentiometer replaced as repair to the symtom "Car could not go over 90mph" Apparently it was road tested after the repair and was fine :D

apparently serviced just before i bought it, oil seems pretty clean.

i tried petal to the metal and it took an absolute age to get to 100 leptons, i dunno if it would push much more than that, 5th gear is flat as a pancake.

i think i'll pop out and get some injector cleaner as someone did suggest it to me earlier aswell, pointimeter could well be the cause, i have been reading along those lines so far.

any idea if its the same part as 20v :D or where its located?

If you've had the MAF replaced, was it a genuine bosch from FIAT or a motor factors, or a cheap ebay thing ?. There are several other things to check but this would be first..

unfortunately i dont know, i will need to as Owen what he bought for it.

i noticed when putting washer water in that the intake temp sensor was disconnected but i cant seem to find the plug for it, i'll have to take it apart and have a took around.

Itll be like starting again hope you havent given up on your other car. You mention intake temp. sensor plug that sounds like what the MAF sensor does. Ive only had to replace MAF sensor and that was loss of power but if thats alright the next thing to check going off other peoples problems is the crank sensor. Hope you get it going properly cause I think you will be pleasantly surprised how well they go and especially if you get it remapped. Mine is 171bhp and thats maintaining the economy when driven normal so youve got to stick a few more horses on for the 130bhp.
