Well clearly not many people have tried that! At the risk of breaking the trim I first worked on the front door from the thick end of the plastic. The clips do pop out using a wide end flat screwdriver or a wide chisel. No paint chips and only a few broken clips. The rear passenger door trim came away working from the rear end.
In all there are 7 clips on the front door and 5 on the rear one only a few broke.
