Technical how do you remove the door glass?

hey guys, i am stripping down the blue slightly rusted door.. how the hell do you get the glass out? how do you detach the glass from the window winder?

i have been fighting with the thing for 2 hours and still nothing.

Hmmm, wish I could remember, just stripped a door a few weeks back. I just kept unscrewing things and eventually it freed up but the winder mech looks a pig to get back in again. How far are you dismantling?

just the glass.. that is all i need to remove. i want to remove everything before i start working on the door. i hope i could get my hand down to the bottom of the door inside to see how bad it is inside

The glass is held on the regulator by a plastic clip, tags on the clip expand once it's pushed through the hole in the glass.
The best way to separate them is to take the glass and reg. out as one unit, then you can easily push the tags in to separate the two.

Wind the window right up and you will notice 2 10mm bolt appear through holes. Undo them and the glass comes out.

you are both right, however the mk1/marbella doors are a little different from the mk2.

these are mk2 so i did not have the two 10mm bolts. where as the marbella/mk1 doors have that. which i think is a bit of a better design.

i have taken some pictures that i am trying to get off my phone and put on to here...

so here we go, i was able to get some thin nose pliers down behind the glass, press the 2 little bits in and push it through the hole.
