I hope i did not start a duplicate thread. If yes, I'm sorry:)

So my question is: how can you tell, wheter a Barchetta is a limited edition or not? Is there a definite sign, or plate in the care somewhere? Can you tell it by the VIN?

How can you differentiate between the certain "flavors" of the LE models?

I've found this German site with the list of extras the LE models came with, but for example I can't really tell the difference between Milano and Riviera...

LE has a plaque with a serial number sitting on the console

Does this plaque apply to all versions or just the "LE" ones? I mean the ones called Riviera etc?

LRB thanks - great help:)

Actually this raises another question... The poor crashed #7985 was supposed to be from 97... - not according to the list. Something is fishy. Loved it anyways:)

Do you mean #7985 as in the chassis number? Because mine is in the 13000s and that dates it to November 1995 manufacturing date.

According to ePer, or at least the copy of ePer that I have, the car with chassis number 7985 was made in July 1995.

Here is a pic of the limited edition plate on the console. I think any of the LE models have this.

I think the plate is listed on ePer, perhaps you could just order a new one. Not sure if it would already be blank?

However, given all the 'mods' that have been done on the bs on here, I think they're all one of one.

tja, In Holland there was the 1998 Limited edition. These had a number on the centre console, red leather seats and silver panels in the cabin for dahboard and doors.
Than in 1999 Fiat sold the LE wich was a luxury version, stitched leather seats etc. etc. They had no number in Holland but were limited to the year 1999. They started calling it the riviera in 2000.
Same in Germany I think see

Hope that helps

jiggy: yes, that was the chassis number. And I found out the reason for the difference in the dates: usually the advertisements mark the date of first evidence and not the date of manufacturing. (which makes sense)

Thanks all for the info on the "Le" identification... I saw the an LE yesterday, it was a Riviera, but in a very bad condition:(
