How do I re-align the steering wheel?

I've had to replace my inicator/headlight stalks twice in the past and they have been miss-behaving again, so I removed them again to try and fix the problem!

Prior to doing this, the steering wheel was not quite aligned straight, but since removing it yesterday the steering wheel seems to have turned even further to the right, nearly 90 degrees when the wheels are straight!

How do I re-align the steering wheel to be straight???

i've had this problem aswell since doing the 20vT conversion, while the car was off the road again i had it on axle stands and put the wheel on where i thought was strait, turned it full lock to the left, referenced the angle it was on and then turned it full lock to the right and compaired until they were similar/the same.

So it's not as easy as just taking the steering wheel off and re-align it then screw the nut back on!!??

Yeah it is. I realigned mine by disconnecting the battery, removing airbag fuse waiting 30mins. Then i took the airbag out, and the nut for the wheel. Then i reconnected the battery and off i went, got the car straight while travelling on a wide road at 10-15mph and carefully pulled the wheel off and realigned it while it was moving. Not the safest way but worked for me. :)

Then i refitted the nut. Disconnected battery, waited 30 mins, refitted airbag, refitted airbag fuse and reconnected battery. No airbag light, nothing. :)

Thanks Joske, might give that a go, but without the driving bit :)

Is the fuse located in the panel to the right of the steering wheel?

Yeah. But if the airbag light comes on dont blame me. However i did the above and the warning light came on when i drove the car but when i returned after aligning the wheel and replaced airbag inc fuse etc the light went out as normal. :)

Doesn't matter, I just disconnected the battery, removed the airbag, removed the steering wheel nut, turned the ignition to unlock the steering and adjusted it that way!

Sorted, just need to get a new indicator/headlight stalk that works propperly now!

So anyone who has one, I've got cash waiting!
