Hi,

I would like to pass a cable from the cab into the passenger door space.
Access to the door coupling from within the door is no problem.
However, I am having trouble finding the door coupling in the cab?
I have looked behind the headlight unit but I don't think that is a likely route. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
This is the eLearn view of the area I am trying to find.

Martin,

You have not identified your vehicle, however as the numbers of the door coupling connectors on your attachment do not match an x244, I assume a more recent x250.

Having recently discovered a lack of central locking commands from the LH cab door on my x244, I have been looking at this area, and had a similar difficulty to yourself.

By carefull observation it seems that on my x244, the cables from the LH door enter the rear of the engine bay, before being guided upwards and then rearwards by ridgid plastic ducts (elbow and T) to emerge behind the dash. This information allowed me to locate the door coupling connectors.

The area where the door cable forms enter the engine bay is to the vehicle LHS of the fuel filter, and behind the air filter on my vehicle.

X250 may be similar, so I hope that this helps.

Solved: How do I gain access to passenger door coupling?

Thank you for your suggestions Communicator,

Yes, I have a x250. Its always the obvious details that get overlooked!
Anyway, I spent another afternoon looking at the problem, and here is the answer for (the very) few who may also be looking for an answer to this question!

Remove the passenger glove compartment (9 Torx screws!) and the loom leading to the door is clipped to the wall close to the McPherson strut mounting. It is hiding behind (which is what fooled me!) a noise dampening blanket.

Ease the matting away from the wall and the cam-operated connector can be seen (well - more accurately - felt) and the route to the door coupling can be found with the help of an electrician draw tape (or similar). Work from under the dash to the door in a general 45 degree angle. There is some sort of void through which the cables pass, so a bit of experimenting is required.

The attached shows the Drivers side (mentally reverse for passenger side) mounting.
