It's time for me to start being nosy again and ask you all pointless questions simply because I can
This week I'm inspired by my nephew and his mates who are just learning to drive and working out how to buy their first car. Some of them are lucky and acquiring cars from aging relatives or getting them as a gift from their parents but the majority of them are like my nephew and using their own money that they have saved/earned over the years.
So how did you fund your first car? Did you buy it yourself or was it a gift from your parents/someone else. For those of us who are a little older how much would your first car cost today?

I paid for my first car from a combination of savings that had been set up for me by my grandparents when I was born (not actually a huge amount but still very welcome) and savings from my various Saturday jobs/birthdays etc. My first proper pay packet paid for the insurance which was actually possible back then. The 7-year old car cost £1300 which is £2363.40 in today's money and just goes to show that Aberdeen didn't always have a dire second-hand car market [attachment=1:28elrs18]cool.gif[/attachment:28elrs18]
So tell me about your first car
